Nova Network – Terms of Membership and Use

1. Introduction

Welcome to Nova Network ("Network", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Nova Legal Ltd ("Nova"). Nova Network is a global community designed for legal professionals to connect, share knowledge, and grow together.

These Terms set out the rules that apply when you join or use the Network, whether through www.nova-law.com, network.nova-law.com, or any other platform we operate (collectively, the "Site"). By creating an account or participating in the Network, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not register or use the Network.

3. What Nova Network Is — and Is Not

Nova Network is a community and professional-development platform that provides forums, micro-circles, content sharing, and events for those working in or around the legal industry.

It does not provide legal advice. Nothing shared within the Network creates a solicitor-client relationship between members or with Nova.

4. Eligibility

You may join the Network if you:

• Are at least 18 years old; and
• Work in or are connected to the legal, compliance, or legal-operations field; and
• Agree to use the Network for professional purposes only.

We may refuse, suspend, or cancel membership at our discretion.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. Do not share your account or impersonate others. You may update or delete your account at any time through your profile settings.

6. Community Standards

By participating in the Network, you agree to adhere to the community guidelines as well as:

• Be respectful, inclusive, and professional.
• Keep 'off-the-record' discussions confidential unless expressly permitted.
• Avoid sharing any content that is unlawful, discriminatory, harassing, misleading, or promotional spam.
• Not use the Network to solicit work or advertise services without permission.
• Respect intellectual-property rights of others.

Breaches may result in content removal or account suspension without notice.

7. Your Content

You remain the owner of any material ('User Content') you post, but by submitting it you grant Nova a world-wide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share it within the Network and in related promotional materials.

You warrant that you have the right to post the content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or confidentiality obligations. We may moderate, edit, or remove content at any time to maintain community standards.

8. Confidentiality and 'Off-the-Record' Spaces

Certain circles or threads may be labelled 'off-the-record'. Members agree not to screenshot, quote, or distribute discussions from those areas outside the Network without express consent.

However, Nova cannot guarantee confidentiality for all content posted online and we advise you to share with discretion.

9. Events and Activities

If you attend a Nova Network event (in person or virtual), additional Event Terms may apply. You may be photographed or recorded for promotional use unless you opt out in writing before the event.

10. Fees and Payments

Membership is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we will notify you of the applicable fees, renewal terms, and cancellation rights in advance. All prices include VAT unless stated otherwise.

11. Data Protection

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy. By joining the Network, you consent to us storing and using your information to operate and improve the community.

12. Intellectual Property

All Nova Network branding, platform design, and original content are the property of Nova or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without permission.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Network may include links to third-party websites or tools. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Network is provided 'as is' for general information and networking. Nova gives no warranty that it will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. Nova is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, information or contacts obtained through the Network. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

15. Termination

You may cancel your membership at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if continued access would harm other members or Nova's reputation.

Upon termination, your right to use the Network ends, but Sections 7 (Content), 12 (IP), 14 (Liability), and 16 (Governing Law) continue to apply.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version with an updated 'Last Updated' date. Continued use of the Network after changes means you accept the new Terms.
